University of Maryland. Plant Science & Landscape Architecture

The goal of this research is to improve grain yield of US wheat even as environmental stress and climatic variability increase. Our program at the University of Maryland, as part of a large collaboration, will be growing selected soft red winter wheat lines for grain yield and measure canopy reflectance in the next 5 crop years in Queenstown (MD). These traits will be correlated with DNA marker analyses to identify those markers that can improve grain yield potential in US wheat.
